So Faerie Magazine editorial director Paul has recently returned from Venice, Italy. This week we share the first part of his "Venetian Chronicles" series he's writing for our newsletter (sign up in the upper left hand corner of this page!) and the Faerie blog.
So we have some exciting news to announce! We love Alice Hoffman, who’s written stunning stories for Faerie Magazine a couple of times now (she wrote the gorgeous “How to Fall in Love with a Mermaid” in our Mermaids issue and “Nine Types of Ice” in our Winter 2014 issue). And now Alice will be doing a regular “Faerie Knitting” column for Faerie Magazine, starting with our Fall 2015 issue! Her cousin Lisa Hoffman, a knitwear designer whose patterns appear regularly in Vogue Knitting, will present enchanted original knitting designs and Alice will write original fairy tales to accompany each one. So new fairy tales from Alice Hoffman in every issue! And magical knitwear from Lisa Hoffman! We’re thrilled and hope you are—and will be, with each issue—too!
We know you’re familiar with renowned artist and illustrator (and frequent Faerie Magazinecontributor) Charles Vess, who regularly transports us to enchanted other worlds. We’re so happy that Charles was honored and celebrated at the William King Museum of Art’s yearly Art Ball in Abingdon, Virginia, over the weekend. A night all Charles Vess!
